Dr. Trecha attended the University of Michigan and obtained his bachelors degree in biology graduating with high honors. He attended medical school at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Dr. Trecha remained in Ann Arbor with the University of Michigan where he completed his internship for one year in the department of surgery. He then joined the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, where he completed his residency in orthopaedics. Dr. Trecha narrowed his focus of orthopaedics to the study of the spine and completed his fellowship in spine surgery at Jewett Orthopaedic Clinic in Winter Park, Florida.
Dr. Trecha joined Columbia Orthopaedic Group in 1989 and treats patients from across the country. He was the first surgeon in mid-Missouri to perform micro-surgical discectomies and today his patients benefit from the most advanced spinal implants. He works closely with his patients to educate them and help them fully understand their problem and their treatment options. He believes that this close working relationship results in healthier patients who more quickly and completely return to their active lifestyles.
Dr. Trecha is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is also a member of the North American Spine Society.
